Pakistani Super Kernel Basmati Rice Supplier Qatar: White and Sella
More Aroma Than 1121 Basmati, Real Basmati Unlike PK-386
Super Kernel Basmati Rice is the traditional Pakistani basmati: shorter in the grain than 1121, stronger in the nose, and the rice a Gulf household means when it says basmati. We import it into Qatar, hold it at Al Wakra and deliver here in riyals with nothing for you to clear. Everywhere else we ship to your port with the freight already paid, or to your door where we hold local clearance. White, steam, golden sella, white sella and brown, in bags from 1kg to 50kg, plain or printed with your own brand.

Super Kernel White, Sella and Brown, Milled in Pakistan
TEFT Global buys Super Kernel Basmati Rice direct from milling groups across Punjab and in Karachi, holds it in stock in Qatar and ships it by the container to buyers across the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, East Africa, Central Asia and Europe. We are not an introduction service. We buy the rice, we own it, we ship it.
What Super Kernel Basmati Rice Is
Pakistan’s Traditional Basmati, Grown in the Punjab Kalar Tract
Super Kernel Basmati Rice is the traditional aromatic basmati of Pakistani Punjab, milled from a variety the trade also calls Super Basmati. The raw grain runs about 7.20mm to 7.50mm, slender enough to give a length-to-breadth ratio above three and a half. It carries a real basmati scent, unmistakable the moment a sack is opened, and it cooks dry and separate rather than sticky.
On the plate the grain roughly doubles, to somewhere around 14mm. That is worth stating plainly, because Super Kernel Basmati Rice is regularly advertised as elongating to almost three times its uncooked length, and no basmati does that. Doubling is what a good traditional basmati does, and it is what separates this grade from the long grain varieties that barely move at all — the difference between basmati and long grain comes down to that and to the scent.
Set against 1121 basmati rice it is the shorter grain and the stronger scent, and it costs less per tonne — the two are compared in detail in our note on 1121 basmati against Super Kernel. Set against PK-386 long grain rice it is a different class of rice altogether, not a better version of the same one: PK-386 is a long grain that looks the part and has no basmati aroma, and it is priced accordingly.
The Five Forms of Super Kernel Basmati Rice We Supply
Raw, Steamed and Parboiled, and Who Buys Which.
The variety is one thing and the form is another. Which form of Super Kernel Basmati Rice you want usually follows from how the rice will be cooked and how long it has to sit between the pot and the plate.

Super Kernel White Rice
Raw paddy milled and polished with nothing done to it first, which is why it keeps the fullest aroma of the five. It cooks in twelve minutes to a light, separate grain, and it is the Super Kernel form Gulf households buy in a retail bag. Single, double or silky polished, 1% broken.

Super Kernel Steam Rice
Super Kernel steamed under pressure after milling, which firms it up without colouring it, so it stays white. It holds its shape in a pot cooked for four hundred people and it breaks less in transit — more on steam basmati rice. Same 1% broken, same polish options.

Super Kernel Golden Sella Rice
Part-cooked in the husk before milling, which is what sella means and what parboiled means, the same process under two names, set out in sella against raw basmati. Super Kernel golden sella comes out amber-gold and hard, and it sits an hour in a warming tray without turning to paste.

Super Kernel White Sella Rice
Parboiled more gently and for less time, so the grain firms up the same way but stays cream instead of turning amber, the comparison is in parboiled against white rice. Retail brands take it where a gold bag would look wrong on the shelf but the kitchen still needs a firm grain.

Super Kernel Brown Rice
Hulled but not polished, so the bran layer stays on and the grain is tan rather than white. It keeps its natural oil, which means a nuttier taste and a noticeably shorter shelf life, and it goes mostly to health retail. Available by arrangement rather than from Qatar stock.

Not Sure Which Form You Need?
Tell us how the rice will be cooked and how long it sits before it is served, and we will tell you which form to take. If it is still a close call we will send samples of two so you can cook them side by side before you commit to a container. Most retail buyers land on white or steam.
How Super Kernel Basmati Rice Compares to the Other Grades
Against 1121, Against 1509, Against Indian Basmati and Against Long Grain
Buyers asking for basmati do not all want the same grain. Some are paying for length and some are paying for aroma, and the two rarely come in the same bag. Super Kernel Basmati Rice is the aromatic side of that choice.

Against 1121 Basmati
1121 basmati rice is the extra-long grain at 8.30mm, and it is the one that photographs well on a pack. Super Kernel Basmati Rice is shorter at 7.20mm, carries noticeably more scent, and lands lower per tonne. Sell on appearance and take 1121; sell on aroma and take this.

Against 1509 Basmati
1509 basmati sits between the two at roughly 8.00mm to 8.30mm, bred for a shorter growing season and priced below 1121. It is the grade to ask about when grain length is what the buyer counts and the budget will not carry 1121. Where the aroma is what sells the bag, Super Kernel wins.

Against Indian Basmati
Most basmati on a Gulf shelf is Indian. Super Kernel Basmati Rice is Pakistani, grown in the Kalar tract of Punjab, and buyers who need an origin India cannot supply ask for it by name. Where a market sets residue limits, we arrange testing against them with the shipment.
If the choice is still open, we will send Super Kernel Basmati Rice alongside whichever grade you are weighing it against, in the same envelope, so you cook them the same day in the same pot.

The live page has carried 7.3mm as a flat figure. The trade range for Super Kernel Basmati Rice is 7.00mm to 7.50mm depending on crop and mill, so the table above publishes a minimum of 7.20mm and a typical range rather than a single number nobody can hold every lot to. If your market needs a guaranteed minimum written into the contract, say so and we will confirm it against the mill before we quote.
Moisture, broken, chalky and foreign matter are ceilings and a good lot comes in under all four. Aroma is not a number and cannot be certified, which is why we send samples on Super Kernel Basmati Rice rather than argue about it in writing — there is a plain guide to judging it in how to judge basmati quality. Crop year is the row buyers forget to ask about and the one that changes how the rice cooks.
Third-party inspection at loading port is available through SGS, Cotecna, Eurofins or Bureau Veritas, covering quality, quantity and weight — so you can verify against the agreed specification before the container sails.
Why Buyers Choose Super Kernel Basmati Rice
Aroma, Price, Five Forms and an Origin Buyers Ask For by Name
Super Kernel Basmati Rice sells on the aroma first. The price against 1121, the range of forms and the Pakistani origin are why buyers stay on it once they have switched.

The Aroma Is the Product
Super Kernel Basmati Rice carries a scent you notice when the sack is cut, not one you have to be told about. On a menu where the rice is served plain beside the meat, that is the difference the guest registers, and it is the one thing a longer grain at a higher price does not buy you.

Basmati at a Workable Cost
Super Kernel sits below 1121 per tonne without dropping out of basmati altogether, which is what makes it work for a kitchen costing a plate or a retailer holding a shelf price. The saving comes off the grain length, not off the scent, the purity or the crop.

Five Forms From One Variety
A distributor running retail bags and catering sacks off one variety orders Super Kernel Basmati Rice white for the shelf and Super Kernel golden sella for the warming trays, on one contract and one crop. Two grades from two suppliers rarely cook the same way, and the kitchen finds out first.

Pakistani Origin, Asked For by Name
Super Kernel is Pakistani and there is no Indian equivalent of it, which matters to buyers whose customers ask where the rice is from — and to buyers who want a second origin on the shelf. We import it ourselves and hold it in Qatar, so the answer to “where is it now” is Doha and Al Wakra.
Who Buys Super Kernel Basmati Rice From Us
Six Kinds of Buyer, Six Different Bags
Super Kernel Basmati Rice goes to retailers, distributors, hotels, caterers, re-packers and community kitchens. What changes between them is the form it is milled to and the bag it arrives in.

Supermarkets and Hypermarkets
Super Kernel Basmati Rice white in printed 1kg, 2kg, 5kg and 10kg bags, barcoded and labelled to the market’s own rules — there is a plain summary of those in our note on rice packaging for the GCC. Delivered to the distribution centre in Qatar.

Wholesalers and Distributors
Container volumes of Super Kernel white and golden sella on a standing monthly call-off, one crop and one specification across the whole run — the terms are set out under wholesale rice supply. Port or door, depending on where you are.

Hotels and Restaurants
Super Kernel Basmati Rice in 20kg and 25kg sacks for kitchens cooking to order, where the scent carries into the room — the procurement side of it is covered under hospitality rice supply. Part loads from our Qatar stock, weekly if you need it.

Caterers and Institutional Kitchens
Super Kernel golden sella in 40kg and 50kg for kitchens holding rice an hour before it is served, which is most of food service rice supply. The parboiled grain is what stops a Kabsa or a Mandi tray turning to paste under the lamps.

Re-Packers and Private Label Brands
Super Kernel Basmati Rice in 40kg and 50kg to be broken down and bagged under your own name, or printed to your artwork at the mill — both routes are set out under private label rice supply. Same crop across the whole print run.

Mosques, Charities and Ramadan Programmes
Super Kernel Basmati Rice in 25kg and 40kg for iftar kitchens and distribution programmes, where the aroma matters and the budget is fixed months ahead — the seasonal pattern is in Ramadan rice demand. Order early; the whole Gulf orders at once.
Where We Supply Super Kernel Basmati Rice
Qatar and the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, East Africa, Central Asia and Europe
Super Kernel Basmati Rice leaves us in a printed 5kg bag for a Doha shelf and in a plain 50kg sack for Basra. Where it is going changes the bag, the terms and whether it travels by sea or by road.

Qatar & the Gulf (GCC)
We hold Super Kernel Basmati Rice at Al Wakra, so a buyer in Qatar takes a pallet or a part load rather than a container, in riyals, with nothing to clear — background in the Qatar rice market. Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates take it in 5kg to 25kg through Hamad Port, Shuwaikh, Sohar, Mina Salman and Jebel Ali, delivered to your port with the freight paid, or to your door where we hold clearance.

Saudi Arabia
The largest basmati market in the world, and the one that asks for Pakistani origin by name — the trade is set out in the Saudi Arabia rice market. Super Kernel white in printed retail bags for the Eastern Province, golden sella in 40kg for the Kabsa and Mandi kitchens, through Dammam and Jeddah and inland to Riyadh. Arabic labelling and the destination paperwork are arranged with the shipment.

Iraq
Basra and Umm Qasr, and onward by road to Baghdad and the north. Iraq buys traditional basmati by the container and it buys on aroma rather than on grain length, which is why Super Kernel Basmati Rice sells here where the longer hybrids struggle. White and golden sella in 40kg and 50kg, plain woven or printed to your own brand, shipped to your port with the freight already paid, or to your door where we hold clearance.

East Africa
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia and Djibouti, through Mombasa, Dar es Salaam and Djibouti and inland from those ports by road. Basmati here is retail trade rather than the bulk staple business, so it moves as Super Kernel white in printed 1kg to 5kg bags for the supermarket shelves in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Kenya requires the container certified before it leaves Pakistan, and we arrange that inside the price.

Afghanistan and Central Asia
Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, moving overland from Pakistan by road rather than by sea. Traditional aromatic basmati is the everyday rice across this whole region and Super Kernel Basmati Rice is the grade it is bought as, in 40kg and 50kg woven sacks. Terms here are agreed to the delivery point on the far side of the border, because none of these markets has a port of its own.

The United Kingdom and Europe
The United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, through Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Hamburg. Super Kernel Basmati Rice goes to the retail trade here as the value basmati sitting beside 1121, in printed 5kg and 10kg bags under an importer’s own brand. Where the market sets residue limits we arrange testing against them and the certificate travels with the documents.
How Super Kernel Basmati Rice Is Packed
1kg to 50kg, Plain Woven or Printed With Your Own Name
The same Super Kernel Basmati Rice is bagged for a supermarket shelf, for a kitchen store room and for a re-packer. What changes is the size of the bag and whose name is printed on it.

Retail Bags, 1kg, 2kg, 5kg & 10kg
Super Kernel Basmati Rice in printed 1kg, 2kg, 5kg and 10kg bags for shelf sale, in polypropylene or laminated film with a handle on the larger sizes. Barcode, nutrition panel and Arabic labelling printed at the mill to your market’s rules.

Catering Sacks, 20kg and 25kg
The size a kitchen porter can lift and a store room can hold. Super Kernel Basmati Rice in 20kg and 25kg woven sacks, stitched and lined, plain or printed, and the standard shipping bag for the East African retail trade as well as for Gulf hotels.

Bulk Sacks, 40kg and 50kg
Super Kernel Basmati Rice in 40kg and 50kg for catering volume and for re-packers, the cheapest way to move the grade per tonne. A 20ft container takes about 25 tonnes of it and a 40ft about 26, which is what sets your freight cost per bag.

Your Own Brand on the Bag
Send artwork and Super Kernel Basmati Rice is printed and filled to it at the mill, one crop across the whole run — what that involves is set out in our note on private label rice in the GCC. Print runs start at one container.
Quality, Inspection and the Certificate That Travels With It
What We Hold the Mills To, and Who Checks It Before It Sails
A container of Super Kernel Basmati Rice is inspected at the mill before it is loaded and again at the port before it sails, and both sets of results reach you before the vessel does.
Four figures matter most on Super Kernel Basmati Rice, and they are the four we hold the mills to.

7.20mm Minimum
Average grain length. Super Kernel is quoted anywhere from 7.00mm to 8.20mm across the trade, so we publish the floor the mill will certify, not the best grain in the sample.

1% Maximum Broken
Broken grain. Unlike long grain, Super Kernel is not sold by its broken percentage — 1% is simply the ceiling, and a lot that comes in above it has been milled hard.

13% maximum
Moisture content at loading. Above this Super Kernel sweats in the sack, and the aroma the grade is bought for goes long before a container has sold through in Basra.

95% Pure Super Kernel
Varietal purity, checked lot by lot. A few per cent of a cheaper long grain is invisible in the bag and obvious in the pot, because it will not elongate with the rest.

Purity Is Where Super Kernel Basmati Rice Goes Wrong
Varietal purity is how much of the sack is actually the variety on the label. A lot of Super Kernel Basmati Rice cut with a cheaper long grain still looks acceptable in the bag, and it fails in the pot: the shorter grain does not elongate, so a proportion of every serving sits stubby beside the rest. Ours is sortex cleaned to 95% minimum and the figure is on the certificate of analysis.
We hold the mills to 95% pure Super Kernel and check it lot by lot against a reference sample, colour sortexed before it is bagged. Moisture is checked on arrival at the mill and again at the bag, because moisture is what turns a good lot into a claim six weeks later in a Dammam or Basra warehouse. Crop year is recorded on every batch and stated to you, not left as subject to availability, there is a plain account of what the Pakistani certifications actually cover in our note on Pakistani basmati certifications. In Qatar the stock is kept under cover at Birkat Al Awamer and rotated first in, first out.
The Certificate Your Country Asks For on Super Kernel Basmati Rice
Several destinations require the shipment to be inspected and certified in Pakistan before it sails, and the certificate has to be in the documents when the container lands. Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda all work this way, and without it a container can be refused at the port or fined. Saudi Arabia runs its own route instead, built around product registration before the first shipment and Arabic labelling on retail packs, which is a different lead time rather than a lighter one. We arrange whichever applies as part of the shipment rather than leaving it with you, and the cost is inside the price we quote. Tell us the destination country at enquiry and we will tell you which one you need and what it adds.Independent Inspection Before It Sails
You do not have to take our word for the Super Kernel Basmati Rice specification. SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas and Cotecna all work at Pakistani ports, and any of them can attend the loading, draw their own samples and issue their own report on quality, quantity and weight before the container leaves. You appoint them and you pay them, and that is the point: the report is written to you, not to us. Buyers taking a first container from us often do this once and then never again. What Travels With Every Container of Super Kernel Basmati Rice
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate, halal certificate and the mill test sheet for your own Super Kernel lot, showing what your rice actually measured. If your bank or your border wants a document that is not on that list, ask before the container is booked. Adding one afterwards means the rice waits at the port at your cost until it is sorted out, and that gets expensive quickly. Our partner mills operate under internationally recognised food safety and quality management systems, and are active members of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), complying with Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) requirements. The certificate for the mill behind your Super Kernel Basmati Rice is available on request.
How You Buy Super Kernel Basmati Rice From Us
From Our Stock in Qatar, or Delivered to Your Port or Door
In Qatar you are buying Super Kernel Basmati Rice from a local supplier. Outside Qatar you are importing it, and the minimum order, the paperwork and the price are all different.

In Qatar: Delivered, In QAR, Nothing to Clear
White and golden sella are in stock at Al Wakra, cleared into Qatar in our name, and you buy them from a Qatari company in riyals. Take a pallet or a part load rather than a container — no import licence, no letter of credit, no clearing agent — and we deliver on our own trucks, usually inside the week. Competitors ranking for Super Kernel in Doha offer to help you import it. You would not be importing anything.

Outside Qatar: Your Port or Your Door, Freight Paid
Everywhere else you are the importer and we ship Super Kernel Basmati Rice to your destination port with the freight paid, and the insurance if you want it that way. You get the documents, the certificate your market demands, and a named person here from the enquiry to the discharge. Printed retail bags add lead time at the mill, so say so early. Where we hold local clearance we deliver to your door.
Every other supplier ranking for Super Kernel Basmati Rice in Qatar quotes you a price at a Pakistani port and offers to help you import it. If you are in Qatar you are not importing anything from us. The rice is already here.
What We Need to Quote You a Price
Five Answers and You Have a Number the Same Day
Super Kernel Basmati Rice is quoted per metric tonne, and the number moves with the form, the bag and where it is going. Tell us those and the quote comes back within one business day.
Which Form
Super Kernel white, steam, golden sella, white sella or brown. If you are not sure, tell us how the rice is cooked and how long it waits before it is served and we will tell you.
Which Bag
Anything from a 1kg printed retail bag to a 50kg woven sack, and whether it carries your own brand. Printing is the part with a lead time attached, so it is worth saying early.
Where It Is Going
The destination, not the port: a warehouse in Doha, a shop in Nairobi or a kitchen outside Riyadh. Where we can deliver to the door we will price it that way, and where we cannot we quote to your port.
How Much and How Often
A one-off pallet and a standing monthly call-off are priced differently, and the second is cheaper. Say which you are asking about, because a trial order priced as a trial order tells you very little.
When You Need It
Stock in Qatar moves in days. A shipped container runs to weeks, and it runs longer if it is printed or if the crop is turning over — the timing is set out in the Pakistan harvest season.
Super Kernel Basmati Rice Questions Buyers Ask
Specification, Forms, Packing, Price and Where We Ship
If your question is not here, ask it, we answer within one business day, Saturday to Thursday and on Friday afternoons.
Super Kernel Basmati Rice is the traditional aromatic basmati of Pakistani Punjab, known in the trade as Super Basmati. The raw grain averages 7.20mm to 7.50mm, it carries a strong natural basmati aroma, and it cooks dry and separate with the grain roughly doubling in length. It is supplied as white, steam, golden sella, white sella and brown.
Grain length and aroma. 1121 is the extra-long hybrid at about 8.30mm and it is chosen where the length of the cooked grain is what sells the product. Super Kernel Basmati Rice is shorter at 7.20mm minimum, carries noticeably more scent, and costs less per tonne. Buyers selling on appearance take 1121; buyers selling on taste take Super Kernel.
No. It roughly doubles, to around 14mm from a raw grain of 7.20mm to 7.50mm. Claims that a basmati elongates to nearly three times its uncooked length are not accurate for any commercial variety, and doubling is what a good traditional basmati does. If a supplier will not put an elongation figure in writing, that is worth noticing.
Five. Super Kernel white, which is raw milled and polished; Super Kernel steam, steamed after milling so it holds its shape in volume cooking; Super Kernel golden sella and Super Kernel white sella, both parboiled in the husk, the first amber and the second cream; and Super Kernel brown, hulled but unpolished, which is available by arrangement rather than from stock.
1kg, 2kg, 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, 25kg, 40kg and 50kg, or a size you specify. Retail sizes are printed film or polypropylene with a barcode and the labelling your market requires; catering and bulk sizes are stitched woven sacks, plain or printed. Private label is available on every size, printed at the mill to your artwork.
In Qatar there is no container minimum, because the rice is already here: you can take a pallet or a part load from our stock at Al Wakra and have it delivered. Outside Qatar the practical minimum is a 20ft container, which holds about 25 tonnes. Print runs for private label start at one container.
Yes. Tell us which form you want, roughly what quantity you are working towards and where you are, and we will send enough to cook rather than enough to look at. If you are choosing between two forms we send both. There is a plain checklist of what else to ask a supplier in our note on how to choose a rice supplier.
We deliver in Qatar from our own stock at Al Wakra, and we supply Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates across the Gulf. Beyond that: Iraq; Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia and Djibouti in East Africa; Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in Central Asia; and the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Italy in Europe. Everywhere outside Qatar we ship to your port with the freight already paid, or to your door where we hold local clearance.
