Pakistani Brown Rice Supplier: Brown Basmati and Long Grain Wholegrain
Husked, Never Polished, in Six Pakistani Rice Varieties From 6.0 to 8.3mm
Milled to Your Order Against a Mill Run, Shipped to Your Port or Door
TEFT Global supplies Pakistani brown rice in six varieties, from 1121 brown basmati rice at 8.3mm down to IRRI-6 brown rice at 6.0mm. Only the husk comes off, so the bran layer and the germ stay on the grain. Every one of them is husked against a mill run rather than drawn from long-held stock, which is how it reaches you close to the crop instead of months behind it. Tell us the variety, the bag and the destination and we will quote it.

Six Pakistani Brown Rice Varieties, Husked to Order
We buy the rice, we own it and we ship it. Brown rice is booked against a mill run and moves from the mill to your port or your door. Six varieties, one contact, one invoice, and a certificate of analysis with every container.
Brown Rice Is the Same Grain With One Milling Step Left Out
Husk Off, Bran On, and the Germ Still There
Every grain of rice starts inside a husk. Take the husk off and you have brown rice: the bran layer and the germ are both still on the grain, which is what makes it tan rather than white and what gives it the firmer bite and the nuttier taste. Take the bran and the germ off as well and you have white rice. It is the same paddy either way, and the difference between the two is one machine.
That single step is why brown rice is quoted, shipped and cooked differently. It carries more of its own oil, it takes longer in the pot and more water with it, and it does not look uniform in the sack the way polished rice does, because there is no polisher smoothing the surface of every grain. A buyer who has only ever handled white rice opens his first sack of brown and thinks something is wrong with it. Nothing is.
Brown rice is not a variety. It is a form, and almost any variety can be sold in it — which is why this page carries six of them rather than one. A brown basmati rice and a brown long grain non-basmati rice are as different from each other as their white versions are, and they sell to different buyers at different prices. The table below sets the six side by side.
Shelf life is the one thing to plan around, and we would rather say it than have you find it out. The oil in the bran is what ages, so brown rice keeps for roughly six to twelve months against eighteen to twenty-four for milled white, and heat shortens it. That is exactly why we do not sit on it. Brown is husked against a mill run rather than held in a warehouse through a Gulf summer, so the clock starts when your container is loaded rather than months earlier.
The Six Brown Rice Varieties We Supply
Three Brown Basmati Rice Varieties and Three Long Grain Rice Varieties
A UK repacker filling a wholegrain basmati bag and a Lagos mill buying cargo rice to finish locally are both buying brown rice, and they are not buying the same thing. The variety is what separates them.

1121 Brown Basmati Rice
The longest brown grain Pakistan mills, at 8.3mm, carrying the full 1121 aroma with the bran still on it. It goes to wholegrain retail shelves in the UK and Europe, where the bag has to look as premium as the shelf price says.

Super Brown Rice (Super Kernel Brown Basmati)
Super Kernel basmati with only the husk taken off, sold across the trade as Super Brown. This is the one European mills buy by the container to mill themselves, and the only one of the six that enters the EU as husked basmati.

D-98 Brown Basmati Rice
D-98 is Sindhi basmati at 6.8mm with the bran left on, mild rather than heavy in aroma. It is the brown basmati rice that fits an own-brand bag priced under the premium shelf without dropping out of the basmati family altogether.

KS-282 Brown Rice
KS-282 is a Punjab-grown Long Grain Non-Basmati Rice at 6.7mm, husked and colour sortexed, with no aroma to carry into the dish. Health-line manufacturers and caterers take it where the wholegrain matters and the fragrance does not.

IRRI-9 Brown Rice
IRRI-9 is a slender Long Grain Non-Basmati Rice at 6.8mm with the bran intact, husked against a mill run in Sindh. It is the brown food manufacturers buy when the grain has to be wholegrain, consistent and bought by the tonne.

IRRI-6 Brown Rice
IRRI-6 is the volume brown rice at 6.0mm, husked and colour sortexed and nothing else done to it. It is what mills and repackers from Lagos to Mombasa buy to put wholegrain rice on a market stall at a working price. This is our best seller.
Six Brown Rice Varieties Compared Side by Side
Grain Length, Aroma, Price Band and Who Buys Each One
The six brown rice varieties run from 6.0mm to 8.3mm and from an everyday working grain to a premium basmati. Every figure below is confirmed against a certificate of analysis before your container loads.
| Variety | Average Grain Length | Type | Aroma | Price Band | Zero Duty Into the EU as Husked Basmati | Bought By |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1121 Brown Basmati Rice | 8.3mm | Brown Basmati Rice | Strong | Premium | No | UK and EU wholegrain retail, premium repackers |
| Super Brown Rice (Super Kernel Brown Basmati) | 7.2 to 7.6mm | Brown Basmati Rice | Strong | Premium | Yes | European mills buying brown to mill themselves |
| D-98 Brown Basmati Rice | 6.8mm | Brown Basmati Rice | Mild | Mid-price | No | Value wholegrain retail and own-brand bags |
| IRRI-9 Brown Rice | 6.8mm | Long Grain Non-Basmati Rice | None | Everyday | No | Food manufacturing and bulk wholegrain |
| KS-282 Brown Rice | 6.7mm | Long Grain Non-Basmati Rice | None | Everyday | No | Health-line manufacturers and contract caterers |
| IRRI-6 Brown Rice | 6.0mm | Long Grain Non-Basmati Rice | None | Everyday | No | Mills and repackers across West and East Africa |
All six brown rice varieties are supplied to the same envelope: no polish and no whitening of any kind, colour sortexed, moisture 14% maximum, broken 5% maximum, foreign matter 0.5% maximum, varietal purity 95% minimum, crop year stated on every batch, shelf life six to twelve months stored cool, dry and sealed, packed 5kg to 50kg with private label available. Tighter limits than these are routine and are quoted per variety — the broken percentage in particular is set by what you are doing with the rice, and a repacker filling retail bags and a mill buying feedstock do not need the same number. Each variety’s own page carries its full specification.
Grain length is the figure buyers ask for first and it is rarely the one that decides the order. A brown basmati rice and a brown long grain rice half a millimetre apart on paper cook differently, price differently and sell to different shelves. If you want the same wholegrain argument in a parboiled grain rather than a raw one, that is brown sella rice, and it is a different product with a different shelf life.

The Two Ends of the Range in One Frame
1121 Brown Basmati Rice on the left at 8.3mm, IRRI-6 Brown Rice on the right at 6.0mm. Same husking, same bran, same sortex — 2.3mm and a price band apart. The longer grain earns a premium wholegrain shelf and a printed retail bag. The shorter one goes to a mill or a market stall at a working cost. Neither is the better rice; they answer different questions, and most buyers land somewhere between the two.
Where Pakistani Brown Rice Goes
Thirteen Countries Across the Gulf, Africa, Europe and Central Asia
A mill buying feedstock, a repacker filling whole-grain rice retail bags and a Doha hotel taking part loads are all buying the same six rice varieties. Where you are matters less than what you need. These are the routes we run most often, and we quote outside them every week.
| Market | What They Buy | Pack | Route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qatar and the Gulf | Retail wholegrain bags, hotel and health-line supply | 5kg to 20kg | Delivered by us in Qatar |
| Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana | Cargo rice for local mills, brown in and milled on arrival | 50kg woven | Your port, or door where we clear |
| Kenya, Tanzania and East Africa | Mills and repackers, plus a growing brown basmati rice retail shelf | 25kg BOPP, 50kg | Your port, or door where we clear |
| The United Kingdom | The largest single volume buyer of Pakistani brown rice | 25kg bulk, printed retail | Your port, or door where we clear |
| Belgium and the Netherlands | Antwerp and Rotterdam mills buying brown to mill themselves | 50kg, container bulk | Your port, or door where we clear |
| Italy and Spain | The EU's own rice mills buying Pakistani brown as feedstock | 50kg | Your port, or door where we clear |
| Kazakhstan and Central Asia | Coarse brown by the container at a working price | 50kg | Your port, or door where we clear |

Qatar and the Gulf (GCC)
Doha, Dubai, Kuwait City and Muscat. Wholegrain retail bags for supermarkets, hotel groups and health lines, mostly 1121 Brown Rice and Super Brown Rice in 5kg and 10kg. We import into Qatar ourselves, so part loads are normal.

Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana
Lagos, Cotonou, Lome and Tema. Cargo rice for local mills that want the grain unfinished so they can finish it themselves, almost all IRRI-6 Brown Rice and IRRI-9 Brown Rice in 50kg woven sacks, quoted to the port or the door.

Kenya, Tanzania and East Africa
Mombasa, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Mills and repackers taking IRRI-6 Brown Rice and KS-282 Brown Rice in 25kg BOPP and 50kg, alongside a wholegrain retail shelf that is growing fast and buys D-98 Brown Rice in printed bags.

The United Kingdom
Liverpool, Felixstowe, London and the Midlands. The largest single volume buyer of Pakistani brown rice, taking 1121 Brown Rice and Super Brown Rice in 25kg bulk for repacking and in printed bags for the retail shelf.

Belgium and the Netherlands
Antwerp and Rotterdam. Mills buying Super Brown Rice by the container to mill and pack it themselves, which is exactly why they want the grain husked rather than white, in 50kg sacks and container bulk to the port.

Italy and Spain
Genoa, Valencia and the Vercelli milling belt. Europe's own rice mills buying Pakistani Super Brown Rice and D-98 Brown Rice as feedstock in 50kg sacks, blended or packed under their own labels for the European shelf.

Kazakhstan and Central Asia
Almaty, Astana and Tashkent. Coarse brown by the container at a working price, IRRI-6 Brown Rice and KS-282 Brown Rice in 50kg, bought on consistency from one container to the next rather than on grain length or aroma.

Not on This List?
These seven are where brown rice goes most often, not where it can go. Tell us the port or the door, the variety and the bag, and we will price it the same week. Brown is booked against a mill run, so a new destination costs you nothing in lead time.
Packing and Private Label for Brown Rice
Four Pack Tiers, and Your Own Brand on the Bag
The bag follows the buyer rather than the variety. A mill taking brown rice as feedstock and a repacker filling a wholegrain retail line want the same grain in two completely different sacks.

5kg and 10kg Retail Bags
Brown rice in wholegrain retail sizes for supermarket shelves and health-food lines in Qatar, the Gulf and Europe, printed to your artwork or supplied plain, in woven polypropylene or laminated bags.

20kg and 25kg Catering Sacks
The working sacks. 25kg BOPP is the standard brown rice bag across East Africa and the size UK repackers buy in, and 20kg suits hotel and catering stores where the sack has to be lifted by one person.

40kg and 50kg Trade Sacks
Mill and wholesale sizes in woven polypropylene or jute, stitched and marked to your requirement. This is how brown rice moves into West Africa and how European mills take feedstock, strapped on pallets.

Loaded by the Container
Brown rice by the 20ft or 40ft container, FCL, palletised or floor-loaded to suit your discharge. Containers are lined and the loading is photographed before the doors are sealed and the seal number logged.

Your Own Brand on the Bag
Private label brown rice bags are printed before the rice is packed, so the artwork sits at the front of the lead time rather than the end of it. Approve the proof early and the print stops holding the mill run.
Brown Rice Quality, Inspection and Certificate of Conformity
Checked at Intake, Checked Again at Loading
Brown rice is judged on what was never taken off it, which means there is nowhere for a poor lot to hide. Every consignment ships against a certificate of analysis and, where the destination requires one, a certificate of conformity issued before the vessel sails.
Four figures matter most on brown rice, and they are the four we hold the mills to:

95% Pure Variety
One variety in the sack. A brown basmati rice blended with a cheaper brown long grain rice looks almost identical in the bag and cooks nothing like it, and the buyer finds out in the pot.

14% Maximum Moisture
Moisture is the figure brown rice lives or dies on, because the bran carries its own oil. Loaded wet, a container of brown rice reaching Lagos or Antwerp arrives smelling of it.

5% Maximum Broken
Broken grain in a wholegrain rice retail bag is the first thing a shelf buyer sees. Tighter grades are quoted where the bag is printed and the shelf it sits on is premium.

0.5% Foreign Matter
Husk fragments, stones and stalk all survive hulling, and none survive a proper intake screen. What reaches your line should be brown rice and nothing else at all.

Sortex Is Where a Cheap Sack of Brown Rice Gives Itself Away
On white rice the polisher takes a thin layer off every grain and a fair amount of discolouration goes with it. Brown rice has no polisher. Whatever colour is on the grain when it leaves the huller is the colour that arrives in your warehouse, which is why an optical colour sorter matters more on a brown consignment than on a white one. The sorter runs the grain past a camera array in a falling curtain and blows out the dark grains, the red-striped grains, the immature green ones and any husk fragment or stone the aspirator missed. On brown the machine has to be reset before it starts, because it is now looking for a shade darker than tan against a background that is already tan, rather than a shade darker than white against white. That reset is the whole difference between a sack that reads as wholegrain rice and a sack that reads as dirty rice, and it is the first thing a European miller checks on a sample.
Every consignment of TEFT Global brown rice is colour sortexed and then sampled again after the sorter, and the reading goes on the certificate of analysis that travels with the container. We keep a sealed reference sample of the same lot, so anything disputed later is settled against the rice that actually shipped rather than against memory. Moisture is read twice, at intake and again at loading, because on brown it is the figure that decides whether the consignment holds. The crop year is stated on every batch, and because brown is husked against a mill run rather than drawn from long-held stock, what you open is close to the crop rather than months behind it. The certificates behind all of it are listed below.
The Paperwork Your Port Will Ask For
Brown rice crosses the same borders as white rice and the same paperwork decides whether it clears them. Kenya and Tanzania want a certificate of conformity issued before the vessel sails. Nigeria and Ghana run their own pre-shipment verification. The European Union and the United Kingdom test against maximum residue limits and will hold a container at the quay while a laboratory works through it. None of it can be fixed after sailing: a conformity certificate issued at the destination is worth nothing, and a container waiting on a quay earns nothing while it waits. We arrange the inspection and the certificate for the market you are shipping into, we tell you which one applies before you commit rather than after, and the cost sits inside the quoted price instead of arriving later as an extra.
Independent Inspection at the Loading Port
You do not have to take our word for any of it. Independent pre-shipment inspection is available at the loading port through SGS, Cotecna, Intertek or Bureau Veritas, appointed by you and reporting to you rather than to us, on quality, quantity and weight. Most buyers do it on the first container and then stop, because by then they have seen how the grain is graded and what the certificate is worth. It stays available on every shipment after that, and on a first order of brown rice we would rather you used it. The inspector draws the sample at the loading port before the container doors close, so anything he finds is found while it can still be put right rather than after a vessel has sailed.
The Documents That Travel With the Container
Every container ships with a commercial invoice, a packing list, a bill of lading, a certificate of origin, a phytosanitary certificate and a fumigation certificate, alongside the certificate of analysis carrying the figures above. Where the destination requires it, the pre-export conformity certificate travels with them. Our supplying mills operate under HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP, Halal and Kosher certification and are registered with the United States Food and Drug Administration.
All of our supplying mills operate under the oversight of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) and comply with Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) requirements. If one of those documents is missing the container does not move, which is the reason for listing them by name: a buyer who has been held at a port before knows exactly which line is the one that stops him, and on rice it is almost always the phytosanitary certificate. We prepare the full set before the vessel sails and send you scanned copies on the day of loading, so nothing is travelling by courier while your container is standing on a quay.

How to Buy Brown Rice From TEFT Global
Delivered in Qatar, or Shipped to Your Port or Door
In Qatar, brown rice is imported and cleared by us before it reaches you, so there is nothing for you to clear. Everywhere else it ships to your port with the freight paid, or to your door where we hold local clearance.

Delivered in Qatar
We import brown rice into Qatar ourselves and deliver it. You are not the importer, there is no customs entry in your name and no letter of credit to open, and part loads are normal. For a hotel, a health-food line or a supermarket buying wholegrain rice bags does not have to fill a container to be one of our customers. Hotels and caterers order this way most weeks or order cycles.

Shipped to You Anywhere Else
Outside Qatar we ship brown rice by the container to your port on CFR or CIF terms with the freight paid, or to your door in the markets where we hold local clearance. Brown rice is booked against a mill run rather than drawn from stock, so you are buying a loading window and a crop year rather than a warehouse pallet, and the container is loaded to your discharge.
Every other supplier ranking for brown rice in Qatar quotes you a price at a foreign port and offers to help you import it. If you are in Qatar you are not importing anything from us. We already did that.
